“This little guy’s name is Devin, and I flew him and his family from one village to another. His dad, Karlos, is sick, and they were going home for a bit. Karlos has been the evangelist in another village for 13 years. The heartwarming thing for me to see was Devin showing off his dad’s Bible [in his heart language]. Actually, it’s the New Testament and half of the Old Testament. And it is dirty, worn, and used! Almost any page you flip open has personal writing, highlighting, and underlining all over the place. Very soon he can get an upgrade … the complete Bible in his heart language!”
A complete Bible, including both the New Testament and Old Testament, in the local language of a people group in Papua is incredibly rare. This one will be the result of decades of work from a Wycliffe translator who works alongside the mother-tongue translators when he is in Papua or via satellite when he is stateside. JAARS-trained pilots have been blessed to help support this work for many years.
