“This is the reason we are here. This is what God has for us.”

By Mary Beth

An instructor from a partner organization recently led a website-building workshop at a conference for national and expat missionaries. During a break he saw two men sitting at a table who should have been in a class. He asked how they were doing. “The class we are in is not going to help us,” they said. “What are you doing in yours?”

He gave them a brief description of the website-building workshop he was leading.

They looked at each other, smiled, and said: “This is the reason we are here. This is what God has for us.”

The instructor invited them to join the class. They quickly caught up, and by the end of the workshop, they had created a great website using the software. One of these students, Mark, is involved in translating the Scriptures into a language primarily spoken in a country closed to the gospel. During the workshop, he asked about a font needed to present the target language properly on computers and mobile devices. The staff was able to create something in a few minutes that he hadn’t been able to accomplish in three weeks!

Mark’s website is now live and has had over 40,000 page views. Because someone engaged two forlorn-looking men, a people group made up of less than 0.01% Evangelical Christians now have access to God’s Word in their language at all times of the day and night.
