New Media Specialists in Training

By Mary Beth

Many remaining Bibleless people groups are non-literate, oral societies. Now more than ever, there is a need for media specialists to come alongside language teams to help produce Scripture-based media.

Students (l to r) David Lamb and Solomon Ngallaba with instructors (l to r) Jon Caton and Jon Barker
A 12-week vernacular media specialist training course started September 4 at the JAARS center. Students will learn the skills needed to address current and future needs in Scripture-based media applications. David Lamb will be serving in Papua New Guinea and Solomon Ngallaba in Tanzania. This first week, David and Solomon are learning about communication, a process foundational to media work that helps one determine what type of media to use and when and where it will most likely be successful.
Jon Barker teaching about communication, a process foundational to media work that helps one determine what type of media to use and when and where it will most likely be successful.
Your gifts to the Core Mission Operations help provide facilities needed for training vernacular media specialists who use media to help people engage with Scripture in their heart language. Thank you!
