Experience JAARS

By Mary Beth

The JAARS Center in Waxhaw, North Carolina

Trees blooming and garden soil preparation means the arrival of spring in the Piedmont area of North Carolina. Summer vacation is in view. Need help with summer plans? Why not visit us at the Waxhaw campus of JAARS and see what it takes to support Bible translation across the globe? Hear and learn from the experiences of trainers, pilots, software developers, boat captains—people who’ve served all over the world.

How about your church group? We offer a range of learning opportunities to help church members grow in their understanding and commitment to missions—and to support the Church in fulfilling its Great Commission calling. Tours of JAARS, lasting two hours, are available starting most weekdays at 9:30 a.m. Afterward, grab a delicious lunch in our dining hall.

Open houses are scheduled for Saturday, June 9th and August 11th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with displays, activities, and sessions running all day. Our two museums take a close look at the heart of our work—language, culture, and Bible translation. Come trace the history of writing or study a Mexican president who deeply valued minority languages.
