Purchasing & Logistics Fellow


DIRECT SUPERVISOR: DIRECTOR OF PURCHASING

The Purchasing & Logistics Fellow will play an integral role in the JAARS Purchasing department through various tasks assisting supply chain management. This position would help the Fellow gain diverse experience in all of the logistical components of supply chain management, including purchasing, contracts, inventory, and shipping and receiving.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Research, evaluate, and collaborate with the purchasing manager on purchases
  • Provide price quotes when requested, fulfill internal and external orders for various customers as assigned, and maintain a courteous working relationship with customers and vendors
  • Analyze and recommend material management policies, procedures, plans, and programs, with a focus on improving long-term scalability, and sustainable organizational value and efficiency
  • Assist in the development of reports, metrics, and KPIs to update progress within the material management activities, projects, and programs
  • Analyze and recommend inventory control practices, policies, procedures, plans, and programs with a focus on improving managing inventory needs and inventory investments in a cost-effective and reliable manner, including implementing different categories (Production, MRO, etc.) within the Item Master of NetSuite for analyses, identifying, investigating, and dispositioning obsolete inventory and implementing bar code system, interfacing receiving/stocking/issuing to Service Orders
  • Manage inventory systems, automated applications, and department controls to accurately record the quality, quantity, type, style, and any other characteristics of the inventory so that JAARS has a clear understanding of inventory investment on hand, inventory required to order, and service levels
  • Other job-related duties as assigned by your manager

  • Working experience with Google suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.) and Microsoft Office
  • Majors include Supply Chain Management, Data Analysis, Business, Digital ERP/IT Systems.
