Aviation Engagement Fellow


DIRECT SUPERVISOR: AVIATION ENGAGEMENT MANAGER

The Aviation Engagement Fellow will play an integral role in the department which serves and promotes JAARS. He or she will work closely with other staff to help develop and implement various JAARS aviation engagement programs. Areas of service include Missions at the Airport (MATA), Vision Flights, CrossVenture|Aero (CV|A), and more. The Fellow will be encouraged to think creatively about possible new processes, and to think strategically about streamlining and strengthening existing processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Aviation Engagement Manager with administrative tasks for MATA, Vision Flights, and CrossVenture|Aero to include preparing forms and spreadsheets, organizing supplies, packing for events, training events for MATA and CV|A staff
  • Actively engage with CV|A campers and Vision Flight participants
  • Travel (as able) to MATA events to assist with set-up and talking with the public
  • Coordinate and execute a traditional MATA event in collaboration with the Aviation Engagement team
  • Design and implement new Vision Flight tracts in collaboration with Aviation Engagement Manager
  • Understand the aviation standards, safety requirements, and regulations to be considered for MATA, Vision Flights, and CV|A events
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by manager

Job Requirements

  • Familiarity with the Google suite, digital design platforms, and is willing to learn other computer programs as necessary.

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Fellows Program Requirements

  • Value global ministry
  • At least 18 years old
  • Learner attitude
  • Collaborative

Preferred

  • Working experience with Google suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.) and Microsoft Office
  • Aviation experience (i.e. Private Pilot License)
  • Majors include Marketing, Communication, Aviation, Public Relations, Creative Arts
