Consider a Short-term Missions Trip With Refuge 139

By mike_dickerman

Could you see yourself in the classroom or on the recreation field building relationships and ministering to our missionaries’ kids? Would you enjoy a cultural experience while helping missionary families to thrive on the field? Then we have an exciting opportunity just for you! A missions trip with Refuge 139, a ministry of JAARS, is all about missionary care in direct support of the Bible translation movement.

Refuge 139 is a volunteer-enabled outreach of JAARS Youth Ministries that supports missionary families by ministering to their children through fellowship, worship, evangelism, prayer, and Bible study.

Missionary kids (MKs) are special. They have a global identity and are culturally rich. They are typically multilingual and known for their resilience and adaptability. But with the advantages come some challenges. Isolation, loneliness, and grief are often experienced. They can have academic, spiritual development, and relational challenges too. This is why Refuge 139 strives to provide meaningful programming for missionary kids while their parents gather during important area conference meetings.

Serving on a Refuge 139 trip allows you to provide a lasting impact over a short time for our missionary families serving abroad. Our traveling teams minister directly to Wycliffe missionary kids while their parents convene for conferences.
