🛥️🛥️🛥️ Water survival training is not just for mission workers who must routinely risk travel by boat. Understanding the risks inherent in water travel is also essential for those managers and supervisors responsible for their workers’ safety. With that in mind, 19 crisis/risk managers from SIL (left, JAARS Maritime staff on right), a JAARS partner, recently took to the waters of Lake Wateree, South Carolina, to get a firsthand perspective of the challenges presented by a water catastrophe such as a capsized boat.

"The Bible in another language is like a leaf floating on a river; it takes a very long time before it absorbs enough water to sink to the bottom. Conversely, the Bible in my own language is like a stone that is thrown into the river — it plunges in and sinks straight to the bottom; it falls right into my heart!" -- local translator in Asia
