How You Can Help

IT TRAINING IN AFRICA

Twenty-six IT specialists serving in French-speaking Africa say “Merci et que Dieuvousbénisse!”(“Thank you and God bless you!”) for your gifts and prayers that made possible the training they received at a recent conference in Burkina Faso. To support this ongoing training, go to jaars.org/technology.

4WD VEHICLES FOR FIELD PARTNERS

In 1990 JAARS began a program to provide 4WD vehicles—and the training to use and maintain them—to translation workers in areas where rough, muddy, frequently flooded roads make travel difficult, if not impossible. To add your support, go to jaars.org/transportation.

CAMEROON HELICOPTER

Thanks to your prayers and gifts, the new helicopter in Cameroon is in operation, including speeding a national literacy worker to a hospital for treatment. “It is encouraging to be able to help a worker who is involved in Bible translation get healthy so he can get back to his work,” said pilot Mark Spangler. To support work like this, go to jaars.org/transportation.

SOUTH ASIA INFORMATION SYSTEMS

The IT support team in South Asia has set lofty goals, including developing a dictionary app for three local language communities and a Scripture app for five more. This is in addition to their regular duties, such as maintaining the backup server, training translators in the use of translation software, and assisting translation efforts in their region. To encourage them, please consider a gift at  jaars.org/technology.

CORE MISSION OPERATIONS

For 70 years, JAARS has been providing the kind of practical support that makes Scripture translation possible. The JAARS Center in North Carolina is home to transportation, technology, training, and media solutions that make translation work faster, easier, safer and more accurate. To support the CORE Mission Operations of JAARS, please consider a gift to jaars.org/core.
