Spend a day at our headquarters in Waxhaw, North Carolina! Ride in a helicopter or a five-seat plane. See how people get Internet in the rainforest. Record your voice into the JESUS film. You’ll get an up-close look at Bible translation—and why it relies on practical support like boats, 4WDs, and software.
The day is yours, so come and go as you like. We’re open 9 a.m.–4 p.m., with displays, activities, and sessions running all day. Download a sample schedule.
Watch a Helio Courier, which can land on the roughest, shortest airstrips around the world.
Activities and Displays
Try your hand at Bible translation or computer repair. Check out a boat, a rugged MP3 player, or a solar power setup.
Learn how God’s Word is changing lives, or how Internet access helps translation work.
Trace the history of the written word, or learn about early Bible translation work in Mexico.
Every JAARS Day is different. In the past, we’ve hosted a NASCAR team, motorcyclists, a 5K run, and other mission organizations.
Hop into a missionary plane or helicopter. Or pile into a four-wheel drive and enjoy our off-road course. Either way, you’ll get a taste of how Bible translators reach remote villages. Come early! Rides in both aircraft and the 4WD course are limited, and tickets are sold on a first come, first serve basis. (You'll need to sign our liability waiver.)
Over 600 people work on our campus. They’re pilots, software developers, boat captains, trainers, translators, and more—people who’ve served all over the world. And they all have stories.
