2019 Summer Programs Assistant
Would you like to spend your summer outdoors, engaging people in activities that inspire and help them grow in their walk with Christ? Are you a hard worker who is willing to do a variety of tasks to facilitate programming?
Be part of the CrossVenture team who helps people discover missions through experiential ethnic and language activities that apply cross-culturally in their own communities.
- A paid position, $9.00/hour, approximately 40 hours/week
- Must be able to work in the US
Brief Description
Support staff and play an active role in the CrossVenture summer programming.
- Internship credit if requested
- Six to eight weeks starting in May 2019
- Work schedule/hours vary depending on program elements and assignments
- Typically, 8:00 a.m.–8:30 p.m. daily with a three-hour break in the afternoon
Responsibilities
- Pray for program, staff, and participants
- Ensure participants’ safety (ages 12–adult)
- Prepare camp materials
- Assist in activities and key program elements
- Build relationships with participants
- Assist in setup, cleanup, and program delivery
- Perform filing, data entry, and research
- Photograph program activities
- Promote CrossVenture on social media
- Demonstrate a deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth
- Embrace the vision, mission, and core values of JAARS, and help us live them effectively
Education and Experience
- High school graduate with interest and some experience in one or more of the following: youth ministry, education, or outdoor ministry
- Excellent communication skills on the phone, one-one or with a small group
- Able to interact well with multiple age groups (specifically teens, young adults, and adult leaders)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and use of social networks
- Ability to be self-directed and problem solve
- Flexible and adaptable
- Follow instructions well
