Purchasing Associate

Would you like to make a huge impact on global missions by using your skills in purchasing? We need a purchasing associate who can understand the needs of our customers, both in-house and international, to best meet their needs and the needs of the JAARS Campus.

Brief Description

Research, purchase supplies, fulfill orders and provide quotes on various genres of items for JAARS use and overseas requests.

  • For a full-time volunteer or a non-paid career staff who raises support
  • Must be able to work in the US


  • Research, evaluate, and collaborate with the purchasing manager on purchases
  • Fulfill internal and external orders for various customers as assigned
  • Provide price quotes when requested, before purchasing
  • Maintain a courteous working relationship with vendors
  • Work with vendors on returns and credits
  • Answer customer and/or vendor questions about orders
  • Maintain records of purchase transactions, and delivery arrival information
  • Demonstrate a deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth
  • Embrace the vision, mission, and core values of JAARS, and help us live them effectively

Education and Experience

  • A high school diploma or equivalent with an A.A. in accounting or purchasing preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to details
  • Understand and respect multicultural management dynamics
  • Competent computing skills, including but not limited to, G Suite and Netsuite software

JAARS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Christian ministry headquartered on a beautiful 500+ acre campus just south of Charlotte, NC. Our campus includes extensive training facilities, an airport, office and commercial facilities, guest housing, food services, recreational areas, health clinic, on-site childcare, and youth and family ministry support for staff and partners.

We are pleased to have more than five hundred people serving on our campus. We partner closely with SIL International, the organizations of the Wycliffe Global Alliance and other organizations locally and globally.
