Museum Programs Fellow


Direct Supervisor: Museum Manager

This position is only available for Cohort Foxtrot starting on July 11, 2022.

The Museum Programs Fellow will serve alongside the Museum team to support the day-to-day operations, programs, and events of the museum. JAARS operates The Museum of the Alphabet on its property (more details here). The Museum Programs Fellow will learn how to train new staff, coordinate schedules, and organize events.

Job Responsibilities

  • Learn the history, current state, and purpose of the museum
  • Coordinate and host tours for guests
  • Organize special museum events, such as JAARS Day and Night at the Alphabet Museum
  • Design programs that encourage curiosity and deeper engagement in visitors
  • Learn how to oversee staff and operations under the Museum Manager
  • Assist with exhibit planning and installation

Fellows Program Requirements

  • Value global ministry
  • At least 18 years old
  • Learner attitude
  • Collaborative

Preferred

  • Basic computer skills, and preferably, working experience with Google suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.) and Microsoft Office
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Education, Anthropology, History, Museum Studies, Administration, and Event Planning or related area
