Museum Curator Fellow


Direct Supervisor: Museum Manager/Curator

This position is only available for Cohort Echo starting on January 24, 2022.

The Museum Curator Fellow will serve alongside the Museum team to support the day-to-day operations and special events of the museum. JAARS operates The Museum of the Alphabet on its property (more details here). The Museum Curator Fellow will learn how to manage the museum, maintain the current museum collection, plan and install new exhibits, and design and implement museum programming to encourage engagement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Learning the history, current state, and purpose of the museums
  • Maintaining the quality of the current museum displays and artifacts
  • Assisting with exhibit planning and installation
  • Designing programs that encourage curiosity and deeper engagement in visitors
  • Assisting with tours and other special events as needed

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Fellows Program Requirements

  • Value global ministry
  • At least 18 years old
  • Learner attitude
  • Collaborative

Preferred

  • Working experience with Google suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.) and Microsoft Office
  • Design or art experience
  • Majors including: Education, Anthropology, History, Museum Studies, Arts, English, Writing, Exhibit Design
