Praise and Prayer for Missing Baggage in CameroonPosted on November 16, 2020
Many thanks to all who have been praying for the arrival of Tim Dyk’s baggage to the international airport in Cameroon. When he arrived in Cameroon over the weekend, his bags containing the test equipment did not. Tim is in Cameroon to help JAARS and SIL Cameroon Aviation with aircraft certifications and inspections.
Matt Rickert, an aircraft mechanic serving with SIL Cameroon, shared this update along with some praises and prayer requests late today (U.S. Eastern Standard time, Cameroon is six hours ahead):
We returned to the airport yesterday at midnight to meet the plane as it arrived and waited for an hour and a half for all the bags to be unloaded, only to discover that they weren’t on the plane. We were told to come back tomorrow. So we will get an early start to the work day by going to the international airport at 6:00 a.m. to check on bags before going to our smaller airport to start work at 8:00 a.m.
Now, rather than focus on the negatives, let’s get to topics for praise:
1. The time newly available to us (rather than working on the projects that Tim came to work on) allowed us to get other avionics repairs done.
2. Along with that was a chance for us to “look over the shoulder” of an experienced avionics tech working on troubleshooting that will help us in the future.
3. We made progress on other projects in the hangar that would have come to a screeching halt because we would have to be more hands off when Tim is working on an airplane (if it happened to be the same one).
Praise God for those things! Hopefully we can get some bags tomorrow morning and get more work done.
Prayer requests are below. Thanks for praying and joining us in this work!
