We’re looking forward to your visit on JAARS Day, an informative, family-friendly, fun day on the campus of JAARS.

Here are some helpful tips your safety and enjoyment at JAARS Day.

Aircraft and 4WD Rides

Come early!  Rides in both aircraft and the vehicle course are limited, and tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis at the hangar. You’ll need to sign our liability waiver. To save time on JAARS Day, download the waiver, fill it out, and bring it with you.

Animals

All service animals are freely admitted at JAARS Day. Pets are not permitted at JAARS Day. Please do not leave pets or service animals in an unattended vehicle for any amount of time.

Arrival at JAARS Day/Check-in

JAARS Day activities happen across five locations on campus: Townsend Building, the Museum of the Alphabet, the Mexico Museum, and the hangar. Start your JAARS Day experience at any of these locations but be sure to check-in at an information station for a name tag, to pick up the day’s schedule, and get answers to any questions you might have. If you’re interested in an aircraft or 4WD ride you might want to check-in at the hangar and get your tickets.

Dress

You’ll walk a mile or more as you explore our campus so wear comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather. Shuttles also run between Townsend, the museums, and the hangar every 15 minutes.

Food Service

Local food trucks serving a variety of delicious breakfast and lunch items are open from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. They’re parked in the grassy area up the road from Crystal Lake across from Bethel Apartments. Or you’re welcome to bring your own picnic lunch.

Gift Shop

Take home a souvenir of your day at JAARS. Your gift shop purchase helps JAARS make Bible translation possible.

Information

Information stations staffed by friendly volunteers ready to answer your questions are located at the Townsend Building, the Museum of the Alphabet, and the hangar. Check-in and get your JAARS Day program at any station.

Parking

Parking is plentiful at each hub of JAARS Day activity. Please park only in marked spaces and lots.

Planning Your Visit

Wondering how much time to spend at JAARS Day? You can easily spend the whole day taking in all the activities, displays, and demonstrations at the Townsend Building, and the hangar and visiting our museums. Peruse the schedule you’ll receive on arrival and make a plan!
