FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 19, 2009 — Waxhaw, N.C. — JAARS launched a redesigned Web site this week, giving a fresh face to its long-time commitment of speeding Bible translation.

“I see this as a key component of getting the JAARS message and mission out there,” says President David Reeves, “so people know how they can give, go and pray.” He adds, “What we do hasn’t changed. It’s about letting people know what we’re doing, so they can get involved.”

The new site offers many ways for visitors to connect with JAARS, making partnership with the organization more dynamic than ever. Among the site’s features are:

Detailed, Up-To-Date Information

JAARS.org now hosts up-to-date information about each of the nonprofit’s support services, as well as foundational aspects of the organization: its vision, leadership, history and finances. In addition, the site’s “Newsroom” highlights JAARS-related news, events and media coverage.

Fresh Stories and Project Overviews

The new site features a collection of fresh stories and project overviews—which can be sorted by region and category, enabling visitors to quickly find topics of interest.

Shareable Multimedia

A multimedia section brings together several valuable resources: an image gallery with full-size, downloadable images; videos that can be embedded and emailed to others; MP3s of a weekly radio broadcast; and PDFs of a quarterly magazine, Rev. 7.

Personalized User Accounts

The site’s “My Account” feature enables visitors to view their giving history, manage subscriptions to JAARS publications, receive a monthly E-Newsletter, and update their contact information—all with a simple, two-minute registration process.
