JAARS Mourns Earthquake in Haiti, Offers Assistance to Samaritan's Purse
President David Reeves describes how JAARS is responding to the devastating earthquake in Haiti, and asks friends of the organization to join in prayer
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WAXHAW, N.C. — January 15, 2010 — JAARS, Inc. joins with the people of Haiti in mourning the loss of life and injuries during the horrific 7.0 earthquake which occurred three days ago. We ask all JAARS friends to join us in praying for this country, its people and the relief efforts already underway.
Many friends have been asking about our plans to help. Since JAARS is not a relief organization, our most effective role in this kind of situation is to help a partner organization, Samaritan’s Purse, which is already engaging in relief efforts. Past assistance to them included relief efforts in Honduras and Aceh, Indonesia, through satellite communication centers, aviation staff and other practical means. We are in contact with Samaritan’s Purse, have offered our services and will respond according to their requests.
In addition, if God leads you to provide aid through financial gifts, please direct them to Samaritan’s Purse via their Web site, www.samaritanspurse.org, or by mail or telephone to:

Thank you for praying and engaging with us as we reach out to this hurting nation in the name of Christ.
Trusting in Him,
David Reeves
