JAARS Inc. of Waxhaw, N.C., announced today that Marshall N. Carter and his wife Missy donated their personal Pilatus PC-6 aircraft to JAARS for its humanitarian purposes. Mr. Carter is chairman of the New York Stock Exchange and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Boston Medical Center.
Elaine Mielke Townsend, 91, the widow of W. Cameron “Cam” Townsend, who co-founded Wycliffe Bible Translators in 1934 and founded JAARS in 1948, passed away July 14 at 7 p.m. in a Rock Hill, S.C., hospital after a brief illness.
JAARS president Jim Akovenko and his wife Sue returned from Stans, Switzerland, last Monday night. They were there to receive a PC-12 aircraft from Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. on behalf of JAARS on March 30.
