Vision 2025

Since 1934, Wycliffe Bible Translators has helped millions of people receive God's Word in the language they understand best. Wycliffe personnel have helped translate the New Testament into 740 languages, and they are currently working with language groups representing 93 countries.

Yet the task is still far from finished.

More than 2,300 language groups are still without God's Word—and without a translation program. Before Vision 2025, statistics indicated the last of these groups would not even see a program started until the year 2150.

In 1999, however, Wycliffe challenged the worldwide Church to drastically change that date.

The Vision

Since then, Wycliffe and its partner organizations have embraced Vision 2025:

The vision to see a Bible translation program in progress in every language still needing one by the year 2025.

Vision 2025 means that hundreds of language groups will see God’s Word translated into their own language decades earlier. Millions more people will be given the opportunity to read the Bible during their lifetime.

Yet Vision 2025 also means that more personnel and resources must be mobilized more quickly than ever. As hundreds of new teams begin translation projects, more village houses and language centers must be built. Safe transportation must be acquired. Communication systems must be created.

Our Role

These support services—and many others—are often provided by JAARS. As a partner organization to Wycliffe, we play a key role in seeing Vision 2025 fulfilled. To meet the needs of hundreds of new translation teams during the upcoming years, we must continue to expand our support services.

Your Involvement

We cannot do this alone. Our support of translation teams hinges on the involvement thousands of individuals, churches and organizations.
