Leadership

President

Our president provides spiritual leadership, oversees corporate decisions and relates with our major financial partners. He or she is chosen by our board of directors and serves for three-year terms, which can be renewed with the board’s approval.

Board of Directors

Our board of directors consists of between five and 20 members, of which the majority are outside the organization.

The board uses the principles of Policy Governance® to ensure that JAARS achieves its mission. Every year its members meet twice and, in addition, participate in at least two conference calls. Their decisions are accountable to the board of directors of SIL International.

New members are elected by the board and serve for three-year terms, which can be renewed through reelection.

Senior Leadership Team

Our senior leadership team consists of our president and senior vice presidents (SVPs). All SVPs are chosen by our president, who oversees the team. These leaders provide support to the president and oversee JAARS departments and corporate decisions.
