Purchasing and Shipping

JAARS Purchasing and Shipping keeps the supply lines flowing to hundreds of translation and literacy programs throughout the world.

Through our network of experienced buyers and shipping clerks, missionaries in some of the world’s most remote areas can order nearly anything: from men's socks to mattresses, aircraft parts to office supplies.

Our team handles the pricing research, purchasing arrangements and shipping coordination, allowing translators and support personnel to continue working without the stresses and delays caused by logistical difficulties.

We process more than 7,500 purchase requests annually, encompassing roughly $750,000 worth of goods. Last year, roughly 300,000 pounds of supplies were shipped to missionaries in more than 80 countries—supplies such as computers and auto parts, school books and printing pages, shoes and sheets.

We also ship missionaries’ household goods to their new homes overseas, easing the costs and stresses involved in moving to a foreign country. And during the following years, as they continue translation or support work, we often ship packages from family members and friends.
