Construction and Maintenance
Throughout the world, Construction and Maintenance personnel are working daily to build, maintain and manage the facilities used for translation work.
JAARS-trained personnel often construct village homes for translators, maintain regional offices, repair generators—even design and clear new airstrips. And with each project, they lighten the load for translation teams, giving them more time to translate God’s Word.
Today, more than 75 people are part of our worldwide Construction and Maintenance team. They often work hand-in-hand with local citizens, providing support services such as:
- Building and maintaining facilities.
- Installing solar electric systems.
- Constructing simple furniture.
- Creating clean-water collection systems.
- Maintaining vehicles.
In addition, more than 25 people serve at the JAARS Center in Waxhaw, N.C., faithfully maintaining the campus’ buildings and vehicles. The center is also home to our 14-week training program, which prepares personnel for construction and maintenance work overseas.
