Business as Mission

Our Business as Mission team is part of a worldwide movement in which God is using for-profit businesses as an integral part of ministry and discipleship.

The movement takes on many names—such as “Kingdom business,” “Great Commission business” and “for-profit missions.” Yet across the board, these businesses are driven by the same vision: through God’s guidance, for-profit ventures can provide invaluable ministry opportunities, local economic development and financial support for missions.

In the context of Bible translation, these businesses can:

  • Provide more sustainable support services.
  • Allow access to regions where missionaries are not typically welcome.
  • Stimulate the local economy.
  • Create income for local churches and translation organizations.
  • Provide a sustainable way for local Christians to be involved in translation.

The JAARS Business as Mission team is committed to supporting Kingdom businesses that exist specifically to further Bible translation. We offer services such as:

  • Business planning to assure success in business and ministry goals.
  • Start-up capital in the form of low-interest loans through our revolving loan fund.
  • Access to business services, such as legal and financial services, through our network of experienced volunteer professionals.
  • Encouragement through ongoing coaching, mentoring and prayer support.
