Computers for Papua New Guinean Translators

In the Nai-Tanggu Bible translation project, hundreds of pages remain untyped and work is grinding to a halt—simply because the team lacks an inexpensive, low-power computer.

Their story is echoed by many Papua New Guinean teams working without access to reliable computers, which are crucial for translation work. Between trips to the regional office, they must record every word on paper, which can easily be destroyed by water damage, fires or other unexpected events.

By partnering with JAARS, you can help provide 10 new computers for these teams, including:

• Two desktop computers.
• One conventional laptop.
• Seven small, low-power laptops or Alphasmart Danas.
• Five memory devices, to be used for backups and transfers.

With this equipment, Papua New Guineans can translate God’s Word more quickly into their own language, as well as literacy and health materials—impacting lives forever.
