Scripture-Based Media in Cameroon
Sixty hours of recording—a blur of dramatic script-reading, playbacks and revisions—culminated in one momentous evening: the final review of the JESUS film in Kuo.
Nine Kuo men congregated in front of a television, methodically reviewing scene after scene in their own language. As the final image faded, a hushed, reflective silence permeated the room.
For minutes no one spoke, each man stunned by images of Christ’s suffering on his behalf.
Stories like this are surfacing throughout Cameroon, where audio and visual tools are being used more frequently to communicate God’s Word.
By partnering with JAARS, you can help provide media such as the JESUS film, audio Scriptures and Christian music, taking God’s Word to everyone in a language group, regardless of a person’s age or ability to read.
This project will provide recording equipment and training for the National Language Media Services department, which works alongside language programs to produce culturally appropriate media.
Through these tools, thousands of Africans can soon experience God’s Word in their language—many for the first time.
