Imagine having a medical emergency with no access to 911 responders, and no way to get to a hospital. That is the reality for much of the world’s population. Aviation programs serving Bible translation teams do their best to address this concern.

An increasing number of lives are saved in Northwest Cameroon as people have access to a hospital during life-threatening emergencies via two aircraft stationed there, a Robinson R44 helicopter and a Helio Courier. When the airplane is not able to get into the village, the helicopter is designed for the challenging location.

Medical evacuation is a key role of the Robinson R44 helicopter, based in Cameroon’s Northwest region. It supports three regional hospitals there. The problem—this aircraft cannot transport a patient lying down. The solution—develop and install an FAA-approved stretcher to accommodate reclining patients onboard the R44.

Good news—qualified engineers from two stateside organizations have agreed to design the stretcher free of charge, an anticipated donation of labor valued in excess of $100,000.

Your gift will help make this helicopter stretcher project for Cameroon become a reality, potentially saving lives of translation-site workers as well as the people they serve.
