Media Training and Production
Get Involved
In Nigeria our Bible translation partner organizations are currently involved in more than 90 language projects, with about 300 translation needs remaining. Each has its own need for translated Scripture in the audio or video forms that more acutely speak to the hearts of individuals in oral societies.
The goal of this project is to make Scriptures available in audio or visual format to oral societies or groups with high illiteracy rates.
The provision of operational structure for a vernacular media section of the Nigeria Group will include the training of more Nigerians to take on the task. Currently two vernacular media interns have been trained, and another is successfully at work, recording, editing, dubbing, mastering, and producing media, with oversight by the Scripture Engagement Coordinator. From October 2010 to June 2011 audio or video materials were produced in fourteen different languages.
Expansion of this program will increase the number of interns, workshops, and recording sessions. Workshops will be conducted to simultaneously record Scriptures and train language project workers.
Your contribution toward this project will help provide the infrastructure, intern stipends, and workshop expenses needed to maintain the Nigeria Group’s vernacular media section. It will increase the level of services they can offer to language communities, hastening the delivery of God’s Word to countless Nigerians’ hearts.
