As Bible translation spreads to far-flung areas, water travel is crucial. In fact, more than half of remaining translation programs are likely to require water travel—on open seas as well as rivers, lakes, and estuaries.

But water safety training isn’t available everywhere. And equipment can be pricey, especially for local translators. A person riding across ocean waters, for instance, may need $1,000 worth of safety gear.

So some people simply forego training. Life jackets. GPS units.

And every journey from shore is a risk.

By partnering with JAARS, you can reduce that risk, protecting lives and advancing Bible translation at the same time. Your gift will help provide safety training and equipment—such as life jackets, signal beacons, and flares—for translators and support personnel around the world. Funds will also be used for monitoring our water safety program, ensuring it stays effective and accountable.
