As Bible translation grows in Africa—and technology keeps advancing—IT support is crucial.

The IT Connect training and mentoring program, designed to enhance the capabilities of those providing IT support in Africa, is addressing this critical need.

Each two-week course provides:

  • technical training with practical applications and lab equipment for students
  • plenty of peer-to-peer networking
  • time to offer feedback to leadership
  • opportunities for sharing personal experiences and exploring issues
  • spiritual refreshment

IT Connect was launched first in Nairobi, Kenya, where eleven students from six East African countries received training. One student, David Oandah, commented: “I recently graduated from university; however, my training lacked practical skills that were needed for my information technology work. IT Connect sessions have given me the opportunity to learn and practice. ... This is of great benefit to our work in Uganda.”

By partnering with JAARS, you can help provide training in two locations in 2012:

  • Ougadougou, Burkina Faso (for French speakers)
  • Nairobi, Kenya

Your gift will help IT Connect continue addressing technology needs in Africa—benefitting Bible translation work across this vast continent.
