JESUS Film for the Blaan People

Theirs is a history painted with paradox: fierce revenge killing mingled with trembling submission to spirits. Shamans and charms pepper decades of animistic Blaan communities, and continue shaping modern lives.

The Blaan New Testament was printed more than 10 years ago, and Old Testament portions quickly followed.

Yet many have yet to read the poignant story of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection—or fully understand its significance.

By partnering with JAARS, you can help provide the JESUS film, a feature-length movie based on the Gospel of Luke. The film’s compelling imagery, coupled with its Old Testament ties, will help many Blaan understand the gospel, regardless of their age or ability to read.

This project will provide for every aspect of dubbing the film, including:

  • Recording and production.
  • Travel for Blaan voice actors.
  • Administration costs.

As a result, thousands of Blaan can soon watch God’s story of redemption and love—and shed their fearful subservience to spirits.
