Photography Equipment for East Asia

A dedicated team is working to improve lives for many minority communities in one Asian country. Yet they must first garner government approvals and public support—two challenging tasks.

And without compelling evidence of minorities’ plights, their appeals often meet indifferent, calloused ears.

By partnering with JAARS, you can help provide high-quality photography equipment, enabling a local team to document minority communities and the impact of language development.

The resulting media will help inform government officials, donors and the wider public about the severity of rural life, challenging them to hear—and respond to—the needs of minority groups.

With approvals and funding, personnel can:

  • Conduct more research and language development.
  • Promote multilingual education for minorities.
  • Publish valuable materials in local languages.
  • Coordinate community enrichment work, such as building schools and teaching locals to create their own water purification systems.

As a result, thousands of Asia’s most isolated people will learn to value their language, their culture, themselves—infusing communities with nearly-forgotten pride and hope.
