Media Training and Equipment for Nigerians
For more than 50 translation teams scattered throughout Nigeria, audio and video are crucial tools for communicating God’s Word.
Most of these teams are working with oral societies, in which people typically communicate through what can be seen and heard. In these societies, written information—even carefully translated Scriptures—may be disregarded unless it’s also presented orally.
In 2007, a JAARS-trained media specialist began working to create Scripture-based media in Nigeria. Yet with more than 50 translation teams needing assistance, it’s impossible for him to meet every team’s needs.
And when he leaves, it’s likely the translation teams will again have no one to help.
By partnering with JAARS, you can help create a sustainable media program—by providing training and equipment for two Nigerians.
As a result, Scripture-based media can be created long after the specialist leaves, bringing God’s Word to thousands of Africans who, otherwise, may never have heard the gospel in their own language.
