For 30 years, four Helio Couriers were the backbone of YAJASI’s fleet in Indonesia, bringing Bible translation, education, and health and economic initiatives to dozens of isolated communities.

But today, skyrocketing fuel costs and excessive maintenance threaten their continued service—and YAJASI must quickly find replacements.

These piston-engine aircraft rely on aviation-grade gasoline, or avgas, a specialized fuel that is no longer available in many areas of the world. Therefore, YAJASI desperately needs to transition its fleet to turbine-engine aircraft, which run on jet fuel—a readily available, affordable alternative to avgas.

YAJASI has already begun transitioning, and currently operates three Pilatus PC-6s and one Pilatus PC-12. However, four aircraft alone cannot meet the growing number of flight requests in Indonesia.

By partnering with JAARS, you can help provide another PC-6, allowing YAJASI to retire additional Helio Couriers and become less dependent on pricey avgas. As a result, the program can continue serving Indonesia’s most remote communities—without overwhelming costs and delays.
