Audio Scriptures for the Kouya People
In 2002, after years of linguistic research and careful translation, the New Testament was printed in Kouya—a language with more than 10,000 speakers in Côte d’Ivoire.
Yet it arrived just months after the onset of a civil war, making it extremely difficult to distribute copies and hold literacy classes.
And now, years later, the Kouya New Testament is still inaccessible to much of the language group.
Although fighting has ceased and the country is operating under a power-sharing agreement, some areas of Côte d’Ivoire have not yet regained complete stability. The majority of Kouya villages are in these regions, making Scripture distribution and literacy classes especially difficult to organize.
By partnering with JAARS, you can help provide a solution: dramatized audio of Luke and Acts, which will make the gospel immediately accessible and understandable for many Kouyas.
Through these recordings, thousands of Kouyas can experience a deeper relationship with Christ—strengthened by the messages of hope and forgiveness found in His Word.
