As a partner in the global Bible translation movement, JAARS provides resources for a growing array of technical and transportation needs through funding, prayer, and service. We work in tandem with SIL International, the Wycliffe Global Alliance, and other like-minded organizations that seek to take God’s Word to Bibleless people in the most remote areas of the world.
The JAARS Center facilities in Waxhaw, North Carolina, include a hangar and airstrip, conference areas, media-ready training rooms, information technology facilities, dozens of offices, and two Bible translation-focused museums. Housing, dining, and childcare facilities are also available on-site. Here, many hours of coordination, training, and service take place.
Nearly six hundred people—career members of Wycliffe Bible Translators, volunteers, and salaried staff—gather at the center each weekday to advance the organization’s international support efforts. New personnel are trained at JAARS facilities to take on positions around the world; seasoned workers return to attend conferences and collaborate with others.
Each year, JAARS provides resources for such projects as:
- flight programs in five countries
- cross-cultural training for new missionaries
- off-road driving and maintenance courses
- improved Internet and communication setups
- training for media production
- purchase and shipment of supplies to more than eighty countries
- water safety training
Your partnership will enable us to continue providing the JAARS Center facilities and operations, facilitating these vital global services—and many others.
