| ||The Alphabet Makers recounts the amazing development of writing systems, along with their creators’ stories, starting with cuneiform and hieroglyphics. This 100-plus page book follows the chronological displays presented in the Museum of the Alphabet, located in Waxhaw, North Carolina.|
Originally published in 1990, the book was reprinted in 2011 with updated population and language statistics, as well as three new sections: the Hebrew Sefer Torah scroll;
the Gullah language of the US southeastern coast; and CARLA software, which speeds Bible translation work.
The book illustrates the various writing systems through beautiful photographs of the handcrafted displays, original paintings, and sculptures found in the museum.
The book is sold at the Museum of the Alphabet and the JAARS Gift Shop. Cost $19.50. You may order by calling 704-843-6104 or filling out our contact form.
