Dear Pastor or Youth Leader,Reading this letter can help you initiate a life changing experience for a teenager you know. It has happened to others. One young woman described how her interest in missions was kindled in eighth grade, during a week at Jungle Jump Off. Now Krista and her husband are taking the gospel to people in Central Asia. If you’re looking for a great way to generate youthful enthusiasm about missions, Jungle Jump Off may be it. JJO is an exciting, hands-on, outdoor missions program youth (age 14 through college age) love. Without venturing out of the country they can experience a taste of life on the mission field. They will spend a week in a simplified living environment, sleeping in champas stilt houses) or hammocks, cooking on a mud stove, and working hard at tasks assigned to them at the JAARS center. Though the schedule is vigorous, time is allotted for your group Bible study, devotions, or personal quiet time. A week of close interaction with real missionaries, hearing their stories, seeing inspirational videos, and participating in a simulated missionary journey, will explode the myths and misconceptions about missionary life. In addition to all this, both teens and youth leaders accompanying them will witness a wide scope of missionary support services in action. They will be challenged to explore possibilities for their own future involvement in the world of missions. You can help open youthful minds to opportunities to change the world in the next generation. At Jungle Jump Off they will be able to jump out of the jungle of routine living into the knowledge of God’s special leading in their lives. Because of the popularity of this program, an ongoing waiting list has formed. If you would like to have your group added to the list, please let us know as soon as possible. There is no fee for application to the waiting list. It may take from one to two years to reach your group’s place on the list, unless you are willing to come on short notice in the event of a cancellation. To reduce the number of cancellations, a non-refundable registration fee is required upon confirmation of your group’s reservation. Spark your teens’ enthusiasm now and the flame may grow, from a Jungle Jump Off campfire to a burning desire to serve the Lord, at home or abroad.Your fellow servant in Christ, For further information, call 704-843-6095, Fax 704-843-6385, or email junglejumpoff_jaars@sil.org.
