| Contagious
Vernacular Media Services spreads a highly
contagious message via several “vehicles of
transmission.” The vehicles, whether flannelgraph,
cassette, video, or high tech digital audio players
(such as mp3 players), adapt to meet the challenging
needs of the world’s varied cultures. However,
the message, the “contagious strain,”
remains unchanged throughout time.
For more than a billion people across the planet,
reading skills do not exist or are rarely used. Of
these oral communicators, almost 200 million are
still without the Word of God in their own language.
Wycliffe’s vernacular media specialists
train at JAARS and then serve Bible translators
around the world, helping teams utilize various
media to share the salvation story.
