Advocate

As part of our growing advocacy team, you can learn about missions, inspire people to get involved, and impact Bible translation around the world—all right where you live.

How? Simply by telling others about JAARS. We’ll train you to share how JAARS supports Bible translation—and how people can get involved—with friends, churches, schools, service organizations, or anyone else you’d like. We’ll also provide plenty of ideas and materials, which you can customize to fit your interests and personality.

Qualifications

Above all, we’re looking for born-again Christians who are passionate about Bible translation and the work of JAARS. We also ask that you be:

  • willing to stretch beyond your comfort zone and meet new people
  • active in your local church
  • team-oriented—willing to work with other advocates and JAARS personnel as needed
  • able to finance any meals or events you host
  • willing to commit to at least six presentations per year

Training

You can train right from home! We also offer periodic training at the JAARS Center in Waxhaw, North Carolina. In addition to training materials, your welcome kit will include everything you’d need to host an event: presentation outlines, videos, letters, ideas, a Gullah Bible and voice recording, the JESUS film in a foreign language, and more.

From the Team

It is great to be part of a group of people who have a desire to reach the nations with God's Word!

The advocacy training equipped my wife and me to better inform churches, schools, and individuals about the ministry of JAARS. Being able to use our gifts, talents, and life experience in the Bible translation effort is very gratifying.

—John Madden, JAARS advocate since July 2010
