1. Rejoice! Tom Bogle and Neal Brinneman from JAARS provided IT training this summer in India despite electrical power outages and challenges of complex scripts.
2. Praise God for The Finish Line, a Wycliffe U.S. publication (www.wycliffe.org/pray.aspx) with prayer requests for translations within three years of completion.
3. Pray that critical personnel needs at JAARS be filled or that creative resources be found to fill the gaps.
4. The dollar value has dropped, negatively affecting overseas workers’ incomes. Pray for needed finances so that ministries may continue.
5. “He had compassion on [the crowds], because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd” (Matthew 9:36). Pray around the clock for the Wycliffe family of organizations to convey the urgency for the Word in every tongue.
6. Rejoice with translators Bob and Jan Mayer that the September Peru earthquake has opened previously hardened hearts to the gospel.
7. Give praise! Prayers have been answered. The Clinic now has a part-time tech to meet needs in the lab.
8. Myanmar (Burma), a country in Mainland Southeast Asia, is going through a critical time. Pray for this nation and its people.
9. Pray for peace and reconciliation in Myanmar and for the people groups in that country who do not have the Scriptures in their language.
10. Pray for resourcefulness to fill personnel needs in Public Relations and Partnership Ministries.
11. Give praise for young people who are filling the gaps in prayer and financial support while those who have faithfully supported Bible translation for many years pass on.
12. Praise! Many MKs at JAARS are pursuing God’s call to ministry. Pray they will not be distracted by the world and will continue to grow in their desire to serve Him.
13. Pray for a solution to the personnel needs in Housing and Housekeeping.
14. Pray for the eight students finishing Vernacular Media (VMS) training. Pray their financial and prayer support teams form quickly so they can go to their field assignments.
15. Praise the Lord for good bonding among the VMS students, in spite of varied backgrounds, languages and experience levels. Praise Him for a good training session.
16. Kevin Golding has recently been appointed as JAARS Clinic Administrator. Pray for him and the staff as they administer healthcare to personnel here and abroad.
17. Praise God for the six Africa Area people groups who received the New Testament in their own language this year. The Finish Line (see Dec 2) is currently tracking 48 projects nearing completion.
18. Pray for peace in African nations, for creative ways to continue programs that have been relocated and for health, strength, stability and protection of mother-tongue translators.
19. Pray for Martha and Ellis Deibler as they work in Harrisburg, Pa., checking Hebrews in the Pokomchi (Guatemala) language with Boris Ramirez.
20. Pray for translators Glen and Jeanie Turner and Jim and Norma Hedlund, working in Ecuadorian Shuar Scriptures. They need most of the Old Testament and the revised New Testament ready for publication by May 2008.
21. Pray the Lord will provide a secretary for the training section of Vernacular Media Services.
22. Pray for men and women with trade skills to serve in the 55 open positions in Construction and Maintenance around the world.
23. Praise God for a short-term receptionist filling the need in the Clinic until April 2008.
24. Pray for MKs in the U.S. who will miss celebrating the holidays with their families overseas.
25. Christmas Day—“The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone” (John 1:4 NTL).
26. Pray for Quest aircraft as they become proficient in manufacturing the Kodiak, and that production will increase to meet field needs.
27. Pray that workers in Aviation make challenging transitions from old to new technology while maintaining the fundamentals of safety.
28. Pray for JAARS leaders: for harmony and openness in relationships throughout the organization; for stress management; for overcoming fear of failure—by faith; and for rest.
29. Ask God to guide Bill Mayes, Africa Area Liaison, as he works with overseas offices to ensure that adequate Internet upgrades are in place. enabling them to communicate, access and contribute to online resources.
30. In August Wycliffe USA senior leadership announced that four of six regional offices would close due to a consolidation program. Pray for the staff in each location as they move to new assignments.
31. Pray for God to use year-end giving to fund projects that will facilitate Bible translation.

1. Thirteen Wycliffe Associates Banquets will be held in North Carolina November 1–17. Pray for speaker Boi Awid from the Philippines and for Steve Martin and his team who organize and supervise these events.
2. Pray that people who attend Wycliffe Associates Banquets in North Carolina November 1–17, will get a fresh vision of Bible translation and how they can be involved.
3. Pray as Ann Rodgers in Tours, and Ed Loving in Language and Translation prepare presentations about the center, Bible translation and cultural awareness for students from Southern Wesleyan University visiting JAARS November 14.
4. Many workers are in restricted-access countries, or areas that are resistant to the gospel. Pray for open doors for ministry, partnerships and friendships.
5. Pray for the staff of the Museum of the Alphabet and the Mexico Museum as they present facets of the Bible translation story to visitors.
6. Thank God for the continued safety of JAARS aircraft, pilots and maintenance crews around the world.
7. Partnership Ministries has given up key workers to fill other JAARS departments’ vital needs. Pray for gifted replacements experienced in financial development.
8. Fall Board meetings begin today. Pray for wisdom and discernment for the members as they make decisions on some major issues. Pray for logistic and technical details to go smoothly.
9. Pray for JAARS high school students going today to West Virginia to distribute coats and blankets. Pray for a fruitful, God-led ministry.
10. Each Friday morning men at JAARS gather for breakfast, prayer and Bible study. Pray that as God touches individual hearts, His love and grace will also impact the center.
11. Pray for those applying for Wycliffe membership to work in Information Technology Services and for new IT members raising support.
12. Prayer is needed for the seven-month Bantoanon Dictionary Project in central Philippines, nearing completion this month. Ask for peace, protection and assurance for the team.
13. Pray for Accounting’s ongoing conversion to new business software, Serenic Navigator, and other systems and procedural changes.
14. Pray that school-age young people and college students visiting JAARS will become passionate for the task of Bible translation.
15. Rejoice! Wycliffe personnel and many partners celebrated 25 years of Bible translation in Niger on August 11. Pray for those who continue to work translating God’s Word into heart languages of Niger.
16. Six new family groups are assigned to aviation roles overseas. Pray as they work on partnership development and say goodbye to family and friends.
17. By signing John 3:16 in Argentine sign language, a new commercial software tested out well. Give thanks for new technology with potential to reduce cost and time of translating Scripture into many different sign languages worldwide.
18. Pray for John Clarke who oversees daily maintenance and grounds keeping for the 99 center housing units.
19. Pray that MKs in college will adjust well to America, receive needed finances, and be blessed with good roommates.
20. Give praise! The first introductory translation workshop in 20 years in Sudan took place in July on the newly reopened center in Juba, supervised primarily by Sudanese consultants and trainers.
21. Pray that some of the twelve trainees, from the first introductory translation workshop in 20 years in Sudan in July, will be able to join teams working in their languages.
22. Thanksgiving Day—“Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done” (Psalm 105:1, NIV).
23. Pray for our men and women in uniform, some in dangerous areas, during this holiday season. Also pray for their families here at home.
24. Praise! God answered prayer for funding and construction of the Kwadima II, replacing SIL’s aging 27-foot boat, and for safety as Larry and Anne Hamilton sailed the boat from Australia to Alotau.
25. Give thanks that Bible translation teams in Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea, now have safe, reliable and efficient water transportation.
26. Ron and Ruth Henkel with VMS will meet with SIL Area Scripture Use Coordinators in Orlando, November 26–December 3. Pray for increased production and use of Scripture media materials in language programs.
27. Volunteers are choice people who bring a variety of skills and expertise to the JAARS team. Praise God for all those serving.
28. Pray that Judi Clarke will have energy and joy as she cares for rooms and guests at Penn Lodge. Pray for someone to help her with the work.
29. At the end of January 2008 all work permits and visas for expatriates in Papua New Guinea are due for renewal. Pray for personnel staff as they begin this lengthy process.
30. Pray with us as preparations are made to celebrate the 60th anniversary of JAARS in 2008.

1. Elaine Townsend was promoted to her heavenly home July 14. Pray for family and friends who will miss her.
2. Pray this week as Butch Barkman and his team conduct leadership training sessions in Panama. Pray for concentration and encouragement for participants, presenters and coaches.
3. Pray for fourteen people taking the fall Vernacular Media training, which continues until December 10. The course is time-intensive with many reading assignments.
4. Pray for continued wisdom and insight for Tim Staples who became Vice President of Finance on September 1, one month before the new fiscal year begins.
5. JAARS Human Resources reports critical personnel needs developing because some Wycliffe members are seriously undersupported. Pray for new resources for these people.
6. Today’s JAARS Day focuses on air, land and water transportation solutions around the world. Pray for presenters from different departments.
7. Pray for Jane Reeves as she assumes responsibilities as Events Coordinator. Thank God for Shelly Steenwyk’s faithfulness in this job the last three years.
8. Give praise for answered prayer—five men attending the fall Construction and Maintenance (CAM) orientation. Their skills will be used in Bible translation in Papua New Guinea, Central Africa, and the Philippines.
9. Today JAARS personnel gather to praise God for His faithfulness this past fiscal year, ending September 30. Rejoice with us for what has been accomplished for Bible translation.
10. Pray for the demands of the new fiscal year that began October 1, including the annual audit and project funding for 2008.
11. Pray that the spring 2008 CAM orientation will see more willing trainees sign up. There are still 50 open CAM positions worldwide.
12. Praise! Dewayne Suderman, a volunteer MK, is now in training as Aviation Inventory Manager.
13. Pray for the JAARS Board in the final stages of selecting the next president. Pray God will prepare the heart of the person who will lead JAARS into the future.
14. Pray for David Presson, Executive Assistant for the office of the president as of July 2. Give thanks for Patsy Immel who faithfully served as Executive Assistant and on the Senior Leadership Team for 12 years.
15. Pray for the successful completion of the JAARS video featuring Vernacular Media Services (VMS).
16. Give praise for the faithful, hardworking Housing and Housekeeping staff. Pray for addition housekeepers and a part-time bookkeeper.
17. Praise God for all who support the work of JAARS through prayer and financial support. Ask God to meet their needs and bless them.
18. Pray for the presenters and attendees of Check-IT-Out in the Orlando, Florida area on October 19–20.
19. Pray that Jim Akovenko, Keith Betsch, Judy Bokelman and Phil McBride (JAARS senior staff members) will have wisdom and insight, along with confidence and peace of mind when decisions seem difficult.
20. Jim Roberts became the Wycliffe Americas Area Director September 1. Pray that he will quickly become familiar with Area personnel at JAARS and throughout the western hemisphere.
21. Pray for needed personnel in Accounting: Director of Accounting, Receipts Processor, Office Coordinator, Accounts Receivable Assistant, and Accounts Payable Coordinator.
22. Pray for the Tour staff and guides. Pray their words will bring glory to God as they interact with guests at JAARS.
23. On a missions trip to Papua New Guinea in July, African-Americans were welcomed “home” by a villager as he related to black Americans he’d never seen before.
24. Pray that the Lord will use a July missions trip to Papua New Guinea and other trips to help African-Americans see how God can work through them in His efforts to reach Bibleless people.
25. Pray for VMS staff Larry Wilson and Ken and Audrey Joslin as they teach translation and literacy workers how to design and record audio programs in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, October 29–November 16.
26. Praise that Mike and Beth Matheson have joined the Youth ministry at JAARS. Pray for their transition as they enhance the existing ministry.
27. Pray for traveling safety to and from Ghana for Marty Barkey who will help with a women’s retreat. Pray luggage and gifts arrive with her.
28. November 2–4 Marty Barkey and Kerri Sasnett will lead a missionary women’s retreat in Ghana for missionaries isolated from each other. Pray that each woman will be renewed and know she is loved.
29. Praise God for the FAA Certification of the Kodiak plane built by Quest Aircraft. JAARS expects the delivery of its first Kodiak for deployment to Papua New Guinea early in 2008.
30. Pray that the youth ministry will be welcoming, encouraging and healing for MKs and their families.
31. Praise God for John and Sheila Tuggy’s accomplishments in translating the Candoshi-Shapra Old Testament in Peru. Pray for guidance on how, where, and when to record Genesis.

1. Pray for the Missions at the Airport teams traveling and holding events in Wisconsin, Washington, Arizona, and California in September and October. Pray for their safety, health, and opportunities to share the Bible translation vision.
2. Pray that workers in Chad, facing many difficult situations daily, will persevere in translation work despite adversity, so that God’s Word will bring light and comfort to many people groups.
3. Give praise with Jo Shetler for the five Balangao Old Testament books sent to the printer. Pray that everything involved in the printing process will proceed smoothly, for God’s glory.
4. Pray for wisdom as Vernacular Media Services (VMS) makes plans regarding needed space.
5. Praise! On April 11, the Urarina people in a village in northern Peru celebrated and praised God for the New Testament completed in their language.
6. Give thanks for the perseverance, in spite of medical challenges and physical limitations, of Ron and Phyllis Manus, alongside faithful Urarina translators, since 1960.
7. This is ICC graduation day. Praise God for all He has done to prepare the trainees for their future assignments.
8. The JAARS Intercessors are people who have taken on the assignment of praying. Thank God for them.
9. Pray for new VMS specialists in Tanzania, Jonathan and Dana McCall, as they go through orientation and language learning. Pray for the provision of a house and vehicle.
10. Pray for the four trainees who plan to attend the fall Construction and Maintenance (CAM) orientation. Pray for the instructors who will teach needed skills and help trainees prepare for cross-cultural service.
11. Continue to pray that the Lord will send workers to fill more than 50 CAM positions around the world.
12. Pray that equipment, sound systems and facility logistics will run smoothly during Check-IT-Out, September 14–15, in Lancaster, Penn.
13. Pray for Andrew Sims, who travels several months a year doing translation training, mentoring and consultant checking in Southeast Asia.
14. Pray for Wycliffe USA’s “Next Gen” Director, Mike Burtnett, as well as for WYnet (www.wynet.org/usa), an online community for missions-minded teens and young adults.
15. Pray for MKs who begin or return to college this fall. Ask God to supply their spiritual and financial needs.
16. Give praise! After 27 years of work, the first complete Aboriginal Bible in the Kriol language, with approximately 30,000 speakers in northern Australia, was dedicated on May 5, in Katherine, Northern Territory.
17. Pray that speakers at Check-IT-Out, in Hudson Valley, New York, September 21–22, will be healthy, enthusiastic, inspiring, and communicate well.
18. Pray that Frank Dvorak and his family, new Vernacular Media specialists, will adjust to the country and climate of Nigeria.
19. Join Albertha Kuiper in giving praise that some Mexican Mixtecs from Tilantongo are interested in the Scriptures in their language. One new believer and some seekers are listening to the Mixtec Scriptures.
20. Pray for the translation team laying groundwork to translate the Word into five new languages in the Southern Chocoan language family of Colombia.
21. Pray for additional regular customers for charter flights in Waxhaw. Funds generated from these flights subsidize the JAARS and Wycliffe organization flights.
22. Pray that the annual inventory process at JAARS, September 24–28, will proceed orderly and smoothly.
23. Pray for the Life-long Learning for Leaders workshop in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, September 24–28. Pray for Patrick Schmidt who is coordi-nating and facilitating meetings with national and SIL leaders from central and western Africa.
24. Information Technology’s top need is people. Thanks for helping pray them in!
25. Praise God for the recent publication of the “B” New Testament in a country with significant unrest and where the conservative religious community is hostile toward Christianity. Pray that, in spite of barriers, God will open doors for these books to reach people whose hearts are hungry to know Him.
26. Praise God for the faithful team, some within the country and some working outside, who are now translating the “B” Old Testament. Pray for their protection and enabling.
27. Pray that VMS will ascertain the needs for a 14-week training certification course in Asia.
28. Pray for the provision of funding, personnel, creative insight and wisdom, as a team of computer software specialists develop tools to help record signed languages.
29. Pray for wisdom as the Jungle Jump Off staff begin the process of booking more than 35 interested groups for the 2008 season.
30. Praise! Over the past six years since the inception of Vision 2025, new translation work has begun in almost 500 languages.

1. Pray for Caryl Mallory and Jim Moore as they work to help entities worldwide develop their own Check-IT-Out conferences.
2. Pray for the Huaylas Quechua New Testament dedication in Peru on August 4–5. Pray for Fred and Ruth McKennon attending from JAARS.
3. On May 22, the much anticipated Pilatus PC-12 arrived in Southeast Asia. Pray that this airplane will help reach those in far away places without God’s Word.
4. Today’s JAARS Day will focus on technology. Pray that the tour staff, presenters and other workers will be ready and that guests will catch the vision for Bible translation.
5. Pray for this month’s meetings of French-speaking churches in Benin, West Africa, and for leaders to become advocates for Bible translation in the francophone church.
6. Pray for the JAARS web survey at www.jaars.org/survey/. As gathered data is analyzed and evaluated, pray for wisdom on how to best communicate the JAARS ministry on the web.
7. Children whose parents are attending the Intercultural Communications Course (ICC) will join the MK Safari program, starting August 8. Pray they will adjust well and learn skills for future cross-cultural living.
8. Pray for the MK Station staff who care for the children of ICC attendees. They need wisdom and creativity in making each child feel loved.
9. Pray for Partnership Ministries, as they consider projects to sponsor for fiscal year 2008.
10. Today ICC training begins. Pray that topics covered will help trainees prepare for multi-cultural challenges in their assignments.
11. Pray for Dick Troyer and Carolyn Murrow as they handle registration, correspondence and databases for two Check-IT-Out sessions in September.
12. The Costa Rican Bribri NT dedication celebration is today. Pray that faith will grow as the Bribri hear God’s Word in their language.
13. Give praise for continued safety for mission pilots flying in challenging conditions.
14. Pray for ethnomusicologists Glen and Sarah Stallsmith and their girls, on furlough in the U.S. from the Philippines until January 2008.
15. Pray for Nyla Nelson, representing VMS at the Pacific Area Scripture Use Consultation. Pray for safe travel and opportunities for sharing media options to reach Pacific language groups.
16. Pray that God will provide personnel to fill the critical needs for a part-time lab technician and a receptionist at the JAARS Clinic.
17. Pray that those involved in safety training at the JAARS Center, trainers and trainees, will know the Lord’s leading and protection.
18. Pray for Rich Kelso as he “debugs” the database software used to handle all conferences held at JAARS.
19. Give thanks that the Gospel of Luke has been published in East Africa “K” language. However, attempts to start a literacy program have not been successful. Pray for effective strategies to help “K” Christians desire to read His Word in their own language.
20. Pray that Partnership Ministries representatives will have good contacts at Combined Federal Campaign events now through November.
21. Give praise that the June Total It Up! went well. A significant percentage of the fourteen participants responded to the challenge to become involved in the Bible translation task.
22. Rejoice! The first Kodiak aircraft is on schedule to arrive at JAARS in early 2008.
23. Pray for safety, good weather and attendance, especially by young people, at Missions at the Airport events.
24. Planning is in process for the October 10–19 Aviation Technical Conference. Pray for the choices of devotional and technical speakers so that attendees will be spiritually encouraged and technically informed.
25. The last Jungle Jump Off (JJO) group of the summer departs for home today. Pray that the Lord would continue to work in the lives of all the participants from this season.
26. Pray for a time of refreshment for the JJO staff after a busy summer.
27. Wycliffe Associates meetings will be held September 15–29, to plan North Carolina banquets for November. Pray for wisdom in choosing speakers, and for attendance beyond expectations.
28. Pray for the additional mechanics and management personnel needed to continue supporting Bible translation through aviation.
29. As language survey work continues in Asia, pray that those within the language communities will understand why the surveyors have come; what information they seek; and how to help them get it.
30. Pray that Jim Akovenko and the Senior Staff will have physical stamina, strength of heart, mind and body, and wisdom in discerning balance between urgent and important.
31. Pray for adequate financial support for those in VMS who are drastically under supported at this time

1. Pray that the seventeen Africans recently trained by Vernacular Media will develop and record audio Scripture programs that will impact hearts and lives of those who hear.
2. Pray for peace for overseas personnel who have family members suffering from serious illnesses in their home countries.
3. Pray for families who are helping their MKs with decisions about college, plans for the future and anticipated separations.
4. Independence Day – Pray for our men and women in uniform serving to preserve our freedom. Pray also for their families at home.
5. Pray for the staff of the Museum of the Alphabet and the Mexico Museum, as they present different facets of Bible translation to visitors.
6. Pray for support personnel needs in Chad. Ken Williams needs a center maintenance assistant. In the office, Lori Williams needs an administrative assistant and an IT manager.
7. Pray for Butch Barkman as he coordinates the L3 Portal team leadership meetings in Papua New Guinea, July 9–13. Pray for participants, presenters and coaches as potential leaders are given the opportunity to develop their skills.
8. Pray for Bret Taylor and his team as they lead youth to accept and be sensitive to new arrivals and to say bittersweet goodbyes to those leaving.
9. Pray for Carol Brinneman and her team as they plan, design, write and edit Rev 7, the JAARS magazine.
10. Pray that the summer intern developing a video to explain how JAARS IT supports Bible translation will have vision and creativity.
11. Rejoice with colleagues that the Sudan Center in Juba has been restored. Pray for a center manager and a guesthouse manager as they organize workshops.
12. Pray for the daily tour guides as they present the new IT tour script which portrays current and future IT programs.
13. Continue to pray for the Executive Director Search Committee as they seek to determine nominees for the next JAARS executive director.
14. Pray that language surveyors can get a cross-section of the people, men, women, young, old, educated, uneducated, monolingual and multilingual who are willing to provide examples of their dialects.
15. Give praise that last month Chet Matheson, Vernacular Media, was able to teach personnel in a sensitive area about video dubbing.
16. Recordings of the JESUS film in four eastern Democratic Republic of Congo languages were completed earlier this year. Pray for the distribution and changed hearts and lives.
17. Pray for George Hart and Chayahuita translators in Peru as they use network streaming and talk over SkypeTM to read and discuss translation of Old Testament books.
18. Pray that Papua New Guinea personnel needs will soon be filled: managers, financial officer, aviation mechanic and other positions.
19. Ask God to guide in long range planning as International IT Mobilization personnel attempt to recruit 249 IT specialists for worldwide needs.
20. The second TOTAL It Up! session is July 22–27. Pray that course participants will see that becoming a part of the Wycliffe team is a great way to invest their lives.
21. Praise that a Christian radio station in Beaufort, South Carolina, has been airing readings of the Gullah New Testament, which were prepared at JAARS. Pray this will continue.
22. Pray for good progress as Christian Grandouiller continues to make trips to Niger, Africa, to do Scripture checking in the Tamajaq language project. Pray for Louise and the children at JAARS.
23. Pray for Tom Bogle, Neal Brinneman and Ken Zook leaving July 26 for a three-week trip to South Asia to help conduct training on new Bible translation computer software.
24. Continue to pray for safety and good coordination of details during Missions at the Airport events.
25. Pray that elementary and secondary teachers needed to teach MKs overseas during 2007–08 will be available before school begins.
26. Pray that a container of tools and household items will soon leave JAARS and arrive safely in Chad. Pray that customs charges in Cameroon and Chad will be reasonable.
27. Pray with Jim Akovenko, Keith Betsch, Judy Bokelman and Phil McBride as they seek God’s mind for the future of JAARS.
28. Pray for God’s protection over translation teams and their families working in difficult places, that they will trust Him.
29. Pray for creative inspiration for artists and designers at JAARS who work on publications, products, and beautifying the campus.
30. Pray that attendees of fall Check-IT-Out conferences will accept the challenge of being involved in information technology needs.
31. Pray as Quest Aircraft traverses the final certification process and goes into production of the Kodiak airplane. Pray that JAARS can take possession of its first Kodiak later this year.

2. Pray that the JAARS delegates will have travel safety to the Wycliffe USA 2007 Delegate Conference in Orlando, Florida, June 5–9.
3. This evening a JAARS Baccalaureate will honor high school seniors graduating and going to college. Pray for MKs transition to college life or the work force.
4. Pray for the TOTAL It Up program going on this week. For one intensive week a group of young people get a Taste Of Translation And Linguistics directed by Ed Loving and taught by former translators.
5. Pray for Amy West and Jo Shetler as they travel in June and July speaking and sharing the vision for Bible translation before groups in the U.S.
6. The Visa Coordinator’s office is short-staffed this month. Pray for Regina Krenzin and Linda Potter as they juggle their office and personal responsibilities.
7. Pray for the crucial need of a new VP Finance, to be identified and in position by July 2007 or soon thereafter.
8. Pray for the JAARS financial software conversion process and for personnel with expertise to ensure that good internal controls and business processes are built into and implemented in the new software.
9. Jungle Jump Off (JJO) is an opportunity for youth to experience a taste of missions in a one-week camp setting. Pray for JJO directors, Rick and Dori Pfizenmaier.
10. Pray for Roger Bryson, Vernacular Media specialist, who will be training nationals in media production in West Asia, June 13–July 1.
11. This morning MK Safari, the elementary summer program, begins. Pray for each child and staff member.
12. Pray for travel safety, health and productive ministry for JAARS youth and adults on their Kenya mission trip, June 13–28.
13. David and Estelle Abernathy and 3 children return to JAARS in July after two years’ service in Nairobi, Kenya. Pray as they readjustment to life in the U.S.
14. Pray that the obstacles delaying the construction of new boat for Papua New Guinea will be overcome and work can continue.
15. Praise! Aviation orientation ends today with six new members: pilot mechanics Jake Anderson, Josh Harrington, and Amanda Nelson, and aviation maintenance technicians Jeff Brewer, Kent Hillmann, and Daniel Jezowski.
16. Todd and Kerri Sasnett are serving in Ghana from mid-June to mid-December as guesthouse managers. Pray they will be encouragers to all there, and for their children and mother in their absence.
17. Praise that Willis Ott and his team in Language and Translation have completed and published guides for Ruth and Revelation, for mother-tongue translators. These will be accessible anywhere in the world via a website.
18. Give praise for all the ways God has kept people wonderfully safe and secure at JAARS—for decades!
19. Pray for new directors of SIL entities who visit JAARS as part of their orientation process.
20. Aviation continues to have urgent JAARS personnel needs: 1) for aviation maintenance technicians, a manager, a parts room manager and a parts buyer; and 2) for a qualified office manager/ secretary in the aviation safety office to help Darryl Bussert with heavy workloads.
21. Pray that the seven IT interns will have a positive experience using their skills this summer and that their missions vision will be enlarged.
22. Pray for additional housekeepers to help with the care of more than 90 housing units.
23. Pray for Jonathan and Dana McCall (Tanzania), Frank and Shawn Dvorak (Nigeria), and Dave and Christy Johnson (Ethiopia), Vernacular Media specialists making final preparations for new assignments.
24. Maritime Services, after a survey in Ghana’s Lake Volta region, has taught teams to swim and use safety equipment. Give thanks for a boat, motor and trailer donated for the use of Bible translation projects in Ghana.
25. Pray as crew members train and integrate the newly purchased PC-12 aircraft into the field flight program in Southeast Asia.
26. There are over 150 personnel vacancies at JAARS. Pray for Jerry Jones, Carolyn Young, and Terry Blackwell who seek to match members and volunteers to strategic needs in all departments.
27. Pray for Papua New Guinea’s director, Jan Gossner, and his team: Jim Tomlinson, Paul Heineman and Beth Acton, newly elected in April.
28. Pray for translators learning Hebrew and culture at the Home for Bible Translators in Jerusalem (www.bibletranslators.org).
29. Give praise for the new Housing office. Departments involved in renovations: Construction and Maintenance, Telephone, and IT.

1. Thank God for you, JAARS pray-ers. We recognize our need for God’s intervention and deeply appreciate your prayers.
2. Pray for Jim Akovenko and his staff as they plan for next week’s board meetings. Pray for all details, including final plans, logistics, materials preparation, and minutes, to go smoothly and without incident.
3. Ed Loving and his team will lead a TOTAL It Up! May 6–11. Pray for good attendance, safe travel and many participants directed into Bible translation or Wycliffe support work.
4. Tomorrow’s JAARS Day will focus on Vernacular Media Services. Pray for personnel as they plan to present the mission of their department.
5. Today is JAARS Day. Pray for the safety of pilots and passengers as they take aircraft rides.
6. Pray for the development of an updated Total-IT-Up display and audio-visual materials to show why IT is needed in Bible translation.
7. Praise! Wycliffe Singapore, together with six other missions organizations, is a founding member of Fellowship of Missional Organizations of Singapore. Pray that this fellowship will lead to deeper partnerships with Singaporean churches.
8. Vision 2025 means that hundreds of Vernacular Media Services specialists are needed, both overseas and at JAARS. Pray for new workers.
9. Pray for Marvin Hyde as he leads a Vision Trip to Ethiopia, Sudan and Kenya, May 10–23.
10. The JAARS Board will meet today through May 12. Give praise for the leadership, direction, and time given by the current chairman.
11. Pray for the election of a new Board Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Audit Committee Chairman.
12. Pray the Executive Director Search Committee will have wisdom and discernment in determining the nominees for the next JAARS executive director.
13. In January, the Kenyan government announced a fourfold increase in work permit costs for expatriates. Pray for personnel who are financially impacted by this huge increase.
14. This year’s Jungle Jump Off season begins today through May 19 with a Christian school from Ohio. Pray that the teens and adult leaders will come with open hearts and minds.
15. Pray for the Kodiak airplane certification and production process. If this goes well, JAARS could have its first Kodiak toward the end of this year.
16. Pray for encouragement and strength for workers who have extra-heavy workloads because of personnel shortages.
17. The need for IT professionals is great! Pray that the Check-IT-Out conference being held in Dallas on May 18–19 will help attendees see where they can be involved.
18. Pray for Check-IT-Out conference attendees as they are challenged to pray, give to IT projects, partner with an IT missionary, tell others of the needs, and become volunteers or Wycliffe members.
19. Pray for Glen Mast and other presenters as they prepare for the May 21–24 Lifelong Learning for Leaders sessions.
20. JAARS tours are given weekdays at 9:30 A.M. Pray for the tour guides’ interaction with guests, and that the vision and needs of Bible translation will be communicated.
21. Pray for JAARS leaders attending the Lifelong Learning for Leaders session, studying God’s sovereignty and a life of integrity, service, vision, and passion in ministry.
22. Pray for the Land Transportation department, offering members and partners training in safe-driving techniques and in using the Global Positioning System (GPS) for navigation and safety.
23. Pray that Chuck Daly, JAARS Aviation Director, and his staff will have wisdom and discernment as they evaluate aviation needs worldwide.
24. Pray that JAARS MKs will finish the school year well. Pray for those going to college in the fall.
25. Pray for financial support for the five to six people planning to come to the fall Construction and Maintenance Orientation sessions.
26. Pray for Materials Transportation Services’ need for two full-time long-distance truck driver couples. Pray for drivers’ safety as they travel from Waxhaw to California, Alaska, New York, Florida and points in between.
27. This Memorial Day weekend, a Missions at the Airport team will be at Keswick Conference Center in Whiting, New Jersey. Pray for their safety and witness.
28. Pray for the safety and effectiveness of Partnership Ministries representatives as they travel and meet with people investing in the support of Bible translation.
29. There are 55 open positions in Construction and Maintenance around the world. Pray for these needs.
30. Give thanks for teachers who have taught MKs this school year. Pray for new teachers to replace those leaving in June on furlough or completing their term of service.
31. Praise God for behind-the-scenes servants working in the boutique, gift shop, kitchen, mailroom, library, and wherever needed.

1. Pray for Bud Speck as he travels to Hungary to attend Communications Global Leadership Meetings with representatives from Wycliffe organizations in Europe and other parts of the world.
2. Pray for Marty Sanders, Vice President of Partnership Ministries, who began his duties February 5.
3. Give thanks for each JAARS board member, who give their time and expertise for God’s Word to be accessible for those still waiting.
4. Pray for the transition process for Keith Betsch who became Senior VP International Services on March 1.
5. Pray! A full-time administrative assistant is needed to help with Check-IT-Out conferences, site visits and volunteer coordination.
6. Pray for Judy Bokelman and Keith Betsch as they travel to Singapore to represent JAARS senior leadership on April 7–14 during Asia Area meetings.
7. Give praise that the Milne Bay boat in Papua New Guinea is now in operation. Pray for travel safety.
8. Easter Sunday! Give praise that the resurrection story is being read in the Pinyin language in Cameroon today. Pray that it will bring joy and hope.
9. Give thanks with the Accounting Department for the successfully completed 2006 audit.
10. Pray for Donna Kay Baldwin and the Senior Services staff as they offer information, resources, transportation and listening ears to JAARS seniors.
11. Pray for Glen Ferguson and Mike and Pat Mower as they plan and organize the 2007 Missions at the Airport season.
12. Missions at the Airport will be in St. Petersburg and Clearwater, Florida, April 14–22. Pray for staff as they provide programs and to speak in Christian school chapels and classrooms.
13. Three departments—Construction and Maintenance, Telephone, and Information Technology—renovated the Family Library space into new Housing Department offices. Pray for a smooth transition and good communication with guests during the move in late April and May.
14. Pray that new Wycliffe members needing to sell their homes will do so quickly as they make final preparation for their field assignments.
15. Mark and Lois Clark are building a house near JAARS while taking the spring Construction and Maintenance orientation. Pray for completion of their home and 100% financial support as they begin their JAARS assignment.
16. JAARS e-mail servers process over 200,000 messages each day. Pray for Dan Zachary as he maintains the spam filters and software that scans and identifies junk mail.
17. Give praise that the Cameroon helicopter is fully functional. Pray for Alan Van Doren as he leads the helicopter team in Banso.
18. Give praise for the work of Woody McLendon and Paul Zwierzynski who, in January, installed satellite-based high speed Internet access for the Wycliffe partner organization ACATBA in the Central African Republic.
19. Pray for the provision of needed staff for JAARS summer morning children’s program, MK Safari.
20. Pray for Bret Taylor and JAARS youth as they train and grow together into a team for their Kenya mission trip.
21. The Youth summer mission team to Kenya is hosting a fundraiser meal this evening. Pray that the vision of the trip will be clearly communicated, and that people will give generously.
22. Pray that Information Technology personnel will have wisdom as interns are selected and oriented for ministry this summer.
23. Pray for Rick and Dori Pfizenmaier as they seek co-workers for Jungle Jump Off (JJO). Pray for enthusiasm, good health and stamina for JJO staff.
24. Pray that the JJO staff will have creativity and time for planning and implementing new material for the 2007 season.
25. Pray for direction as Bible translation consulting issues in Papua New Guinea are addressed in relation to changing times and Vision 2025. Pray for His direction as plans are made for 2007 workshops for training translators and consultants.
26. Praise! The new PC-12 aircraft is to be ferried to Southeast Asia this month, with pilot training sessions beginning in Australia in May.
27. Pray for JAARS Aviation needs: mechanics, two maintenance people as aviation buyer and stockroom manager, a chief pilot, and flight instructors. Mechanics are also needed overseas.
28. Pray for Purchasing and Shipping buyers as they process more than 7500 purchase requests annually. Each of these shipments enables and encourages someone on the worldwide Bible translation team.
29. Pray for families preparing to return to the field and those coming on furlough when the school year is completed. Pray for smooth transitions for the children.
30. Praise God for visas recently granted in Asia after months of waiting. Now these workers can move to their assignments, helping to relieve others’ heavy loads and getting the Word to language communities.

1. This month in Madagascar, twenty-two translators from five languages meet to draft Luke chapters 1–4. Pray for protection of translators and their families. Pray that even as difficulties come to them, they would remain encouraged and committed to this work.
2. Tomorrow is JAARS Day. Pray that visitors will discover how they can go, give and pray for the support of Bible translation around the world.
3. Today and tomorrow, the first of the Missions at the Airport events in 2007 is being held in Montgomery, Alabama. Pray for travel safety for the teams, ambassadors for Bible translation.
4. Bible Translation & Literacy (BTL) celebrated its 25th anniversary on December 9, 2006. Pray for BTL, a partner organization, providing translated Scriptures and literacy in Kenya.
5. Pray that BTL’s new magazine, launched in December, will be an effective tool for presenting Bible translation and literacy needs to Kenyans.
6. Pray for speaker Bob Sjogren as he leads the JAARS Spiritual Vitality Conference today and tomorrow.
7. Pray for new Wycliffe members seeking prayer and financial partners. Ask God to bless their willingness to go and serve.
8. Praise! Last year, Fulani believers in Mali and the Afizere people in Nigeria received New Testaments in their languages.
9. Dennis and Sandy Cochrane joyfully serve as college recruiters. Pray for their efforts to challenge students that world missions is a worthy life choice.
10. Pray for wisdom as Purchasing and Shipping buyers seek the best value and price in purchasing mission supplies and equipment.
11. Health Services staff will administer immunizations to people from the community who are planning short term mission trips this summer. Pray that these travelers will learn about JAARS and Bible translation.
12. Story tellers are working with translators in one region of Africa to produce audio tapes to reach oral learners in four languages. Pray for adequate funding and that this strategy will spread to the other language communities in the region.
13. Pray for the JAARS preschool staff who minister to children of families on furlough or in training. Pray for these families in transition.
14. You prayed! Eleven Wycliffe Associates made progress remodeling a 200-year-old three-story building in Valence, France. Pray that a second group will soon be able to complete the work for Wycliffe France.
15. Pray for the Housing staff who arrange lodging for hundreds of visitors and conference attendees each year.
16. Pray for the financial resources to produce and distribute creative multi-media tools that inform and encourage people to serve God through giving to Bible translation projects.
17. Praise! African leaders participating in the Africa Bible translation movement are having influence and impact in many ways.
18. Pray that workers will have wisdom as they encourage and support the African Church in the pursuit of giving God’s Word to those in Africa who need it in their own language.
19. The SIL Korea training program, The Asia Research Institute of Language and Culture (ARILAC), began in January 2006. Give thanks for this program which prepares students for language work.
20. Pray for wisdom and sensitivity as JAARS truck drivers interact with families leaving for overseas service.
21. After imprisonment on false charges in an Asian country, translator “J” was released but returns to prison once a week to lead a Bible study with five prisoners. Pray for this dedicated worker, the translation project and the prison study.
22. Pray for the JAARS groundskeepers and gardeners as they get the Center ready for spring.
23. Pray for wisdom and sensitivity for parents of missionary kids. Pray that God will use the cross-cultural upbringing of these children for His glory.
24. Pray for the efficient processing of applications for summer Information Technology internships at JAARS.
25. Pray for Housekeeping’s need of additional long-term volunteers for room cleaning and laundry work.
26. Christians in Myanmar represent about 45 minority languages. Pray for the Myanmar (Burma) Church’s need for the Word in heart languages.
27. Pray that Burmese Christians who have a vision for Bible translation will be sustained and protected.
28. Pray for JAARS workers experiencing health problems: cancer, chronic fatigue, severe depression, shingles, cardiac problems, joint replacements and more.
29. Pray for Purchasing and Shipping workers’ attention to details as they prepare paperwork for shipping internationally.
30. Rejoice! The Pilatus PC-12, serial number 795, is to be dedicated today. Pray for its safe delivery and integration into service in Southeast Asia.
31. Pray that God would mobilize qualified, willing people to serve in key administrative, training and language program roles, essential to seeing Southeast Asia communities transformed by the Word.

1. Pray that God would give wisdom to SIL language teams, support workers, and administrators as they meet this month in Bagabag, Philippines.
2. You prayed! The Dinka Rek New Testaments were released from customs. Pray that they will soon reach the people and a date set for dedication and distribution.
3. Pray for 18 Wycliffe members serving at JAARS with less than 80% of needed financial support. This is stressful and handicaps their work.
4. Pray for the situation in Darfur, for peace at all levels and for hearts prepared to receive the Word of God with humility. Pray for widows and orphans destitute from the conflict.
5. The JAARS Annual Project Catalog invites people to extend God’s love to others by giving to one or more of 29 specific projects providing technical tools and resources. Pray hearts will be moved and full funding provided.
6. Ask God to provide skilled people to fill 246 computing needs worldwide.
7. Praise God for the Wycliffe Associates KidZone teams, under leaders Donna and Bob Britting, who served in Peru, Vanuatu, Ethiopia, Mexico and other countries in 2006.
8. Pray for volunteers needed to teach a KidZone VBS for 200 children at the Ukarumpa Center in Papua New Guinea, March 22–April 1. Pray that visas will be granted in time.
9. Rejoice! Three more New Testaments have been dedicated in three different languages in Papua New Guinea bringing the total to 162.
10. Pray for safety and health for teams who began language surveys in Papua New Guinea in January.
11. Pray for the JAARS senior high students who are training and preparing for a Kenya summer mission trip. Pray their hearts will be teachable and needed trip funds provided.
12. Pray for clear presentations by Public Relations staff, as they speak to churches and other groups about Bible translation. Pray that hearers will be led to get involved.
13. Praise God for the many dedicated “unseen” servants who give and pray faithfully so JAARS can continue to support Bible translation.
14. Rejoice! The Wanca Quechua New Testament was dedicated in Huancayo, Peru, on August 1, 2006. One woman, hearing the Word in her heart language for the first time, said, “This…is easy to understand! Now I can become a Christian.”
15. Pray that JAARS truck drivers and their wives will have safety on the highways in all kinds of traffic and weather.
16. Pray for political peace around the world and protection of SIL staff. Pray that Field Crisis Management teams will have accurate information and clear thinking when problems arise.
17. Pray for renovations scheduled February 19–20 to expand JAARS Accounting space. Pray that Accounting’s operations can continue unhindered.
18. One night a woman in Nigeria opened a Bible. Though unable to read it, she thought an open Bible would keep the spirits away! Pray that workers among the “H” people will have opportunities to share the Good News.
19. Pray that God’s Spirit would draw the “H” people to Himself, the most powerful of all spirits.
20. An eight-page, full color booklet with John 3:16 expressed in photograms for deaf Argentineans has been published. Pray for the impact of these booklets on lives and that more materials will soon be available for deaf Argentineans.
21. You prayed! Six international Construction and Maintenance (CAM) positions were filled from last spring’s orientation class. Pray for skilled workers for 49 other positions.
22. Pray for those who begin spring CAM orientation today in their final preparations for field assignments.
23. After 18 years “in exile” due to civil war, the Sudan Branch is able to return to its center in Juba. Praise God that the property is still available!
24. Ten teams of Sudanese translators are moving back to southern Sudan. This means uprooting their families and heading for a land where most of the infrastructure and facilities have been destroyed. Please pray for God’s provision for living arrangements.
25. Pray for good attendance and participation at the Check-IT-Out, to be held March 2–3 in the Chicago area. Pray attendees will understand the need of computer support for Bible translation.
26. Rain Forest International School (RFIS) provides education for missionary kids in grades 7–12 in Central Africa. The teacher and staff needs at RFIS for 2007 are greater than ever. Ask God to provide workers for all open positions.
27. Pray that Jim Akovenko, Judy Bokelman, Dave Bothwell and Phil McBride will have wisdom, guidance and unity as they lead JAARS in its worldwide mission.
28. Give praise for the 2006 Wycliffe Associates’ construction work in Kenya, Cameroon, Mexico, Papua New Guinea, and several countries in Asia.

1. Thank God for new beginnings. Pray for every translation project that will be started this year.
2. In 2003, Vernacular Media Services staff helped record the narration for a specially adapted version of the Jesus film in Yiddish. Recently, a mission organization mailed DVD copies to 80,000 New York City households. Pray it will open hearts to Yeshua.
3. Pray for the families scheduled to attend Construction and Maintenance (CAM) Orientation this year. Pray that God will lead others to join their prayer and support team.
4. There are 51 open CAM positions in several countries. Pray that the Lord will call people to this work and will lead many others to pray for them and support them financially.
5. Retirees and skilled volunteers are needed for specific, short-term projects and service opportunities. Pray.
6. A family serving in Togo needs a tutor for their four children in grades 5 – 11. Pray that their educational needs, and those of other missionary kids around the world, will be met.
7. Pray for teachers and assistants at the JAARS MK Station, caring for children while parents are in training or are serving on the JAARS campus.
8. Pray that Bible translators working in “displaced” projects will make good progress despite obstacles related to working far from the language area.
9. Flight subsidies enable translators to travel to and from language areas. Pray the ongoing needs will be met.
10. Pray for Bret and Mindy Taylor. They need wisdom, sensitivity and endurance as they lead teen Bible studies and Youth programs on the JAARS campus.
11. Wycliffe Foundation helps people support global Bible translation and literacy efforts through gift-planning. Pray they will provide spiritually-relevant, excellent counsel and service.
12. Pray that 200 more people with computer and information technology (IT) skills will soon join the Bible translation support team.
13. Pray for the IT experts who keep the computers running and network operating here in Waxhaw and around the world.
14. A ten minute radio program called Speeding the Word is produced weekly at JAARS. Pray that more stations would agree to broadcast these personal stories of how God is using Bible translators and support personnel to bring God’s Word to the nations.
15. Pray for Tom Chesebro, Bob Mantell and Dave McKee of Creative Services, producing radio programs, videos and DVDs. Pray these media tools would encourage interest and involvement in Bible translation.
16. Ask God to grant wisdom and foresight to administrators, directors and other leaders of this multi-cultural, multi-national family of Bible trans-lation organizations and partners.
17. Road conditions in some parts of the world make travel time-consuming and stressful. Pray for safety and the provision of rugged four-wheel-drive vehicles for teams needing them.
18. Another qualified machinist is needed in the Aviation hangar. Pray.
19. With more than 800 languages, Papua New Guinea may be the most linguistically diverse country in the world. Pray for translation underway in nearly 200 of these languages and for work beginning in 50 more in the next three years.
20. Pray for new Wycliffe members and staff at Training Camp in Orlando, FL, today through February 3.
21. Pray that many more financial and prayer partners will commit to the task of sending and supporting those who are able to “go.”
22. Pray for safety for long-distance truckers, center delivery drivers, airport runners and others who serve “behind the wheel.”
23. Pray for qualified consultants to check Old Testament Scriptures in the “F” language in Africa. The nine books ready for checking could impact more than nine million people.
24. Praise God for a good report from auditors following our annual review.
25. Praise God for the housekeepers, groundskeepers, and center services staff, who keep the campus looking and functioning well.
26. Internet connection at some overseas centers is so slow it prevents the transfer of files, access to corporate information and secure communications with the rest of the world. Pray for the provision of technology that will remedy these situations.
27. Pray for Bob Cape, providing technical expertise to keep the JAARS website up and running. Pray for wisdom as he and a Creative Services team redesign the website.
28. Pray for Antonin and Adakou Azoti and their son Jerome, of Wycliffe Togo, beginning their language assignment. Pray for good health, progress, and relationships with the people.
29. As the pace of Bible translation increases, more translation consultants are needed for Scripture checking. Pray for those being trained in this important role.
30. Praise God that partner organizations in several countries are taking on increasing numbers of language projects. Pray for the provision of computers and information technology that will speed their efforts.
31. Pray for Vernacular Media staff, holding a “Designing an Audio Project” workshop for translation and literacy teams in Ethiopia February 12–16.
