P&S buyers process more than 7500 purchase requests annually. Over 300,000 pounds of missionary supplies—from aircraft parts to computers, school books to printing paper, shoes to sheets—were sent to more than 80 countries last year. Every package enables and encourages someone in our worldwide Bible translation team.

The Bible translation team is a huge one, at work in countries around the globe. Obtaining materials and equipment when needed, at a reasonable cost and optimum time-frame, can speed a team’s progress or, in some cases, even make progress possible. From personal goods to department and corporation needs, JAARS Purchasing and Shipping keeps the supply line open so the goal of Bible translation can be reached.

Buyers

Not only is a buyer’s job challenging and fun, it’s an important part of getting God’s Word to the world. Buyers work at the JAARS Center, in Waxhaw, N.C. or overseas in countries with large translation support centers. The JAARS Center currently has an urgent need for at least one experienced buyer.

Qualifications

Detail oriented person, willing to work with computers
Buying experience preferable
Able to do business over the telephone

Shippers

Meeting export and import regulations for more than 60 countries is a real challenge and an essential part of getting God’s Word to the Bible-less peoples of the world. Shippers work in the Purchasing and Shipping department at the JAARS Center in Waxhaw, seeing to the myriad details and paperwork involved in sending and receiving international shipments. Orders range from one small box to large metal shipboard containers.

Qualifications

Detail oriented person, willing to work with computers
International shipping experience a definite plus but not mandatory
General warehouse experience helpful
